According to a study done by the Yale International Center for Finance**, fully collateralized spot commodity futures contracts have the same sharpe ratio as equities. While being uncorrelated with equity and bond returns, the study concludes, commodity futures are positively correlated with inflation, unexpected inflation, and changes in expected inflation.
